Full Job Description
Are you a qualified teacher looking for a rewarding alternative to mainstream classroom teaching?
Do you want to continue transforming young people’s lives while enjoying greater flexibility and a healthier work-life balance?
We are looking for experienced and compassionate SEND Tutors to deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition to secondary-aged learners who require additional support outside of a traditional classroom setting.
The Role
As a SEND Tutor, you will work closely with learners on a one-to-one basis, delivering personalised educational programmes that meet their individual needs, abilities and learning styles. Many of our learners have SEND and SEMH needs and may be disengaged from mainstream education, so your ability to build positive relationships and inspire confidence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and tailored 1:1 tuition sessions.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual SEND and SEMH needs.
- Create a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment.
- Monitor learner progress and provide feedback where required.
- Build positive relationships with learners, families and professionals involved in the learner’s education.
- Help learners develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification).
- Experience working with secondary-aged learners.
- Proven experience supporting learners with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver personalised learning programmes.
- A patient, flexible and empathetic approach.
What We Offer
- A rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on learners’ lives.
- Greater flexibility and improved work-life balance.
- Competitive rates of pay.
- Ongoing support from a dedicated team.
- The chance to work in a role where every session truly matters.
If you are passionate about helping vulnerable young people achieve their potential and are looking for a fulfilling alternative to traditional classroom teaching, we would love to hear from you.
