About The Role

This advert is to register your interest for future NDT/Welding Inspector positions expected to become available at HPC.

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced NDT/Welding Inspector to join the team supporting industrial and energy projects across the UK.

This role will involve carrying out Non-Destructive Testing and welding inspection activities within the individual’s approved level of qualification and competence.

The role will involve site-based working 10.5 hours shift on a 10/4 shift pattern based at Hinkley Point C.

Working hours and project schedules will be confirmed in line with individual project requirements.

The position is paid under SSA agreements, with lodge and travel paid where applicable. Pay rate: £33.23 basic/h. Possible opportunity to work on a non-working day at OT rates. Overtime will not come into effect until your first full working week.

Key Deliverables

  • To carry out NDT activities in accordance with approved company, client, site and contractual procedures and applicable codes and standards.
  • To set up, calibrate and verify NDT inspection equipment and record calibration results in accordance with company procedures.
  • To perform preliminary inspection and equipment functional checks before use.
  • To interpret and evaluate inspection results against applicable standards, codes, specifications and acceptance/rejection criteria.
  • To identify and accurately report defects or defect indications and cross-check inspection findings.
  • To prepare and submit clear, accurate NDT/Weld inspection reports within agreed timescales. Experience using Field View reporting system advantageous
  • Carry out NDT/Weld inspection duties in accordance with approved company, client, site and contractual procedures and applicable codes and standards.

Key Requirements / Qualifications

  • Required qualifications needs to include CSWIP 3.1 & PCN MPI preferred, and/or DPI.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ combined training and experience in Weld Inspection/NDT or an associated Quality function, with relevant mechanical/process industry experience desirable.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport . Must be able to pass BPSS security clearance
