Customer Support Officer – Night Shift 12 month FTC

Location: Tameside

Here at NSL, part of Marston Holdings Ltd., we are not just the “parking people”; we are so much more than that. Our team of highly trained frontline colleagues and back-office support team members provide outsourced business services to the public and private sectors. These include comprehensive parking and street management solutions that contribute to creating a great place to work and live.

About the Role

We are looking for a Customer Support Officer to join our Night Shift team in Tameside. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with the public, and making a positive difference within the local community.

Working across the town centre, public streets, car parks and the Market Hall, you will provide support and assistance to members of the public, encourage positive engagement, and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment. You will work closely with local businesses, Greater Manchester Police and Tameside Council to deliver a professional and customer-focused service.

What you will be doing:

  • Patrolling public streets, car parks and the Market Hall to provide a visible presence.
  • Assisting members of the public by offering advice, guidance and signposting to local support services.
  • Managing challenging and confrontational situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Reporting equipment faults, incidents and irregularities within the town centre.
  • Working alongside local businesses, Greater Manchester Police and Tameside Council to deliver contractual requirements.
  • Supporting colleagues, providing cover when required and assisting with the training of new team members.

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
  • A passion for working outdoors and engaging with the public.
  • Ability to work night shifts and remain flexible to meet operational requirements.
  • Previous customer-facing experience is desirable. A full UK driving licence and experience working with vulnerable people or community support agencies would also be advantageous.

What you will get in return:

  • 20 annual leave days plus bank holidays.
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Package (subject to eligibility criteria).
  • Health Cash Back Plan.
  • Staff benefits designed to suit you, from discounts on high street and online shopping to travel, socialising and wellbeing.
  • Pension Scheme.

If this sounds like the job for you, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of a team committed to delivering outstanding service to the local community.

New starters will be subject to clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and a County Court Judgment check. In addition, the post holder is expected to keep the Company updated if their personal circumstances change.

We are an equal opportunity employer, which means we'll consider all suitably qualified applicants regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, age, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic. We recruit and develop our people based on merit and their passion for creating better outcomes, and we're committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees
