We are currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our Topside/Subsea Divisions.

Location

  • Aberdeen/Liverpool, United Kingdom or Den Helder, The Netherlands.

Core Purpose

  • Act as the key link between the Subsea or Topside business, Finance leadership, application owners and BI/Data teams.
  • Translate operational, commercial and financial needs into clear data, application, warehouse and reporting requirements; own divisional data mapping and architecture documentation; and support consistent, trusted management information and scalable Group reporting.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Business Process Support:

  • Work with divisional process owners and key stakeholders to map and understand end-to-end operational, commercial, project and financial processes, highlighting regional or legacy variations, manual workarounds and opportunities for standardisation.

Data Mapping and Architecture:

  • Own the divisional application and data architecture view, maintaining application inventories, dataflow and system-interaction maps, interfaces, systems of record, data lineage, dependencies and key data ownership across entities.

Requirements and Impact Analysis:

  • Gather, challenge and document business, data and reporting requirements, business rules and acceptance criteria; assess the downstream data and reporting impact of application implementations, migrations, integrations and configuration changes.

Data Warehouse Onboarding:

  • Act as the divisional business/data lead for onboarding priority applications and datasets to the Group warehouse, defining source scope, grain, history, refresh frequency, common identifiers, source-to-target mappings and transformation requirements.

Master and Reference Data:

  • Support consistent definitions, hierarchies and controls for customers, projects, contracts, entities, service lines, assets/equipment, personnel and statuses, working with Data Owners, Stewards and BI to maintain agreed standards.

Reporting and KPI Framework:

  • Gather and rationalise reporting needs; define KPI calculations, dimensions, frequency, ownership and drill-down requirements; and support the design, validation and adoption of Power BI dashboards and management reporting.

Data Quality and Reconciliation:

  • Profile and validate critical data, define validation and exception rules, investigate root causes and reconcile outputs from source applications through the warehouse to published reports and management information.

Testing and Change Delivery:

  • Coordinate business testing, UAT, defect resolution and sign-off; ensure application and process changes are assessed for data, integration, warehouse and reporting impacts before implementation.

Performance Insight:

  • Support forecasting, planning and performance reviews by translating complex operational, commercial and financial information into clear analysis and actionable insight for divisional and senior leadership.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships across Finance, Operations, Commercial, Applications, IT and BI/Data teams; communicate technical concepts in practical business language and support documentation, training, adoption and continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven Senior Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or Data Business Analyst experience in a complex, multi-entity or project-based organisation.
  • Offshore energy, engineering, subsea, topsides or comparable sector experience is advantageous.
  • Strong requirements gathering, application analysis and data mapping skills, with experience in data-flow documentation and facilitating stakeholder workshops.
  • Experience supporting data warehousing, BI/reporting, integration, system implementation or business transformation delivery.
  • Strong practical Power BI experience, including report/dashboard requirements, KPI definition, data validation and working with semantic/data models.
  • Sound understanding of relational data, master/reference data, data quality, reconciliation, testing and data governance controls.
  • Able to bridge business and technical teams, challenge constructively and influence senior stakeholders across functions and locations.
  • Advanced Excel; SQL, data modelling or BPMN/process-modelling knowledge is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in business, information systems, data, engineering, finance or a related discipline.
  • Relevant business analysis, process, data or Power BI qualification is desirable.
