Architectural Technologist

Date: 2 days ago
City: Edinburgh, Scotland
Contract type: Full time

A fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a practice that's instrumental in large scale residential and mixed use developments across Scotland.

EMA provides masterplanning, urban design, architectural and technical services to a wide range of landowners, developers and public sector clients throughout Scotland.

We have recently advertised for architects and urban designers and we are now seeking Architectural Technologists with strong construction detailing skills, who have a passion for urban design, housing and placemaking to join our longstanding and committed technical team. Experience working with AutoCAD is essential and Revit is preferred.

Working with other members of the team at various levels of their career, you will assist in delivery of large-scale domestic housing and mixed-use projects, typically picking up at RIBA Stage 3 and running to RIBA Stage 6. You will be comfortable working as part of a team, and independently with minimal oversight, and will ultimately report to the Technical Director. You will develop technical drawing packages, administer applications for statutory approvals, coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors, and liaise with site teams on any construction phase queries.

The role would suit a person who possesses strong technical skills and a working knowledge of BSD Technical Handbooks, Warranty provider design guidance (such as NHBC), and affordable housing design guidance (such as HfVN).

We work in a fast-paced dynamic environment where we focus on quality of output, project delivery and client satisfaction. Current projects include Edinburgh's Garden District and Meadowbank in Edinburgh, Drumchapel and Tollcross in Glasgow, and Findrassie and Pinewood in Moray and Aberdeen, amongst many other projects across Scotland.

Our office is in Charlotte Square in the centre of Edinburgh, where we work together as a team and finish at lunchtime on a Friday.

If making things happen appeals and you want to grow your career in a fast-paced and real environment where you can actually see your work get built, we would love to hear from you. Please send your expression of interest and CV to Simon Christie at .
