Buxted CofE Primary is looking for an enthusiastic Individual Needs Assistant to join our year 5 class team. Buxted is a thriving rural primary with a committed, friendly staff. We have motivated happy children who are rewarding to work with and supportive families.
You'll be working closely with an experienced class teacher and a Teaching Assistant providing support for a really delightful, engaging child with special educational needs, helping them flourish and succeed here in the school.
We need someone who is:
- Compassionate and caring, patient and intuitive with a good sense of fun.
- Able to adapt learning tasks to suit the child they're working with.
- Able to run small group activities.
- Happy to follow the lead of the teacher but able to recognise the unique needs of the child.
- Able to read advice from outside agencies and put it into practice in the classroom and in individual sessions.
- Be able to keep accurate records and data.
- Able to engage warmly and confidently with parents.
Experience of working with children with additional needs is preferred, but showing a willingness to develop your knowledge and being happy to support the class teacher with the development of a suitable programme of work for the child will be viewed very positively. We would consider a job share for the right person too.
If you're successful, you'll be working with a supportive, friendly and inclusive team who enjoy the uniquely rewarding challenges and opportunities that teaching has to offer.
Visits are warmly welcomed.
