PwC’s Internal Privacy Team is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Data Privacy Senior Associate to join our growing function. As a key member of the team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring PwC meets its legislative and regulatory obligations under data protection law. You’ll take ownership of defined areas within our privacy compliance programme, leading and managing activities to maintain robust standards. In this role, you’ll also support engagement teams across the firm, helping them navigate privacy requirements and providing guidance on complex data protection matters.

What your days will look like:

  • Provide accurate, appropriate, timely and pragmatic advice, striking a balance between legal/regulatory requirements and the wider interests of the business
  • Review new technology offerings to ensure compliance with data protection by design and default
  • Conduct comprehensive data protection impact assessments
  • Determine the appropriate basis for undertaking international data transfers
  • Undertake international data transfer risk assessments
  • Support the Team Lead with other matters as and when required

The role is for you if

  • You are degree-qualified with proven experience advising on in house privacy matters
  • You have a regulatory/compliance background
  • You have a solid understanding of EU and UK data protection legislation (UK GDPR, DPA, PECR);
  • You have an understanding of ancillary legislation (EU AI Act, UK AI frameworks), regulatory developments and case law updates concerning data privacy
  • You are enthusiastic about developing themselves and others
  • You can work to tight deadlines often with multiple demands
  • You are highly motivated and confident to work independently, but with support from more experienced subject matter experts/team members where required

What you’ll receive from us

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.

We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
