This role offers the opportunity to build on that position and support the continued growth of our international Project Finance business

How will I help?

As Executive Director, Project Finance, you will lead Westpac’s international Project Finance business across the UK, Europe and North America.

Reporting to the Global Head of Project Finance in Australia, you will lead the origination and execution of complex debt transactions across sectors including power and renewables, infrastructure and utilities and digital.

You will be a senior leader within the business, responsible for delivering high quality financing solutions, maintaining strong credit and risk standards, and supporting sustainable and profitable growth. You will also lead, develop and coach a team of Project Finance specialists.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the origination and execution of Project Finance opportunities across the UK, Europe and North America.
  • Structure, negotiate and document complex debt transactions.
  • Lead credit approval processes and evaluate the credit quality of transactions across renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities and other relevant sectors.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of complex debt structures and alternative funding solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, advisers, banks and other external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with relationship managers, industry analysts, financial markets, legal, credit and other debt products teams.
  • Participate actively in customer account planning and the development of new business opportunities.
  • Lead, develop and coach Westpac’s Project Finance teams based in London and New York. .
  • Undertake internal and external post transaction reviews and support the continued improvement of product delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of risk management, governance, conduct and regulatory compliance

What do I need?

We are looking for an experienced Project Finance professional with strong origination, execution, credit and leadership capabilities.

  • Significant experience in Project Finance or a related structured credit role.
  • Experience financing renewable energy, data centre and infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Strong experience structuring, negotiating and documenting complex debt transactions.
  • A strong understanding of Project Finance documentation and credit approval processes.
  • Strong cash flow modelling, analytical and credit writing skills.
  • A detailed understanding of key commercial and financial drivers within Project Finance transactions.
  • Proven experience developing client relationships and originating new business opportunities.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines within a transaction focused environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A self motivated approach, with strong initiative, commercial judgement and customer focus.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing specialist teams.
