Hayfin Capital Management

Date: 5 days ago
City: London, England
Est. £64,114 - £78,616 / yr
Contract type: Full time

We are hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to help build the analytics workbench applications that supports analysis and decision-making across our business.

Hayfin is a global alternative asset manager with deep expertise in credit and a broad alternatives platform, partnering with institutional investors worldwide. Reporting directly to the Director of Portfolio Analytics, you will take ownership of our growing in-house analytics workbench - working across the full stack, shaping how the business uses data, and coordinating with a small offshore vendor team to keep delivery on track. It's a hands-on role for someone with a strong track record shipping enterprise software, who wants to bring that experience to a small, fast-moving team that's actively rethinking how it builds, using AI as part of the day-to-day workflow.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain the analytics workflow app, using Angular on the front end and Python (FastAPI) on the back end, writing clean, well-tested code that's easy to support and extend.
  • Build data pipelines and models using pandas and NumPy, working with Snowflake and Azure to store and serve data reliably and securely.
  • Coordinate an offshore vendor team: setting priorities, assigning work, reviewing output, and tracking hours and spend.
  • Use AI coding assistants as part of daily development work, and look for ways to improve how the team builds, tests, and ships software.
  • Work directly with the Director of Portfolio Analytics and business stakeholders, turning requirements into working software and explaining technical choices in plain language.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building and managing enterprise-grade software, including experience working across offshore/onshore vendor teams.
  • 8+ years with Python, including pandas and NumPy; 5+ years building APIs with FastAPI; 5+ years with Angular and UI libraries such as Material or Bootstrap.
  • Experience hosting and managing applications on Azure, and building solutions on Snowflake.
  • Hands-on, day-to-day experience using AI coding assistants as part of a development workflow.
  • A clear communicator, comfortable working directly with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Financial services experience (asset management, banking, or fintech) is a plus, as is experience in a small, fast-moving analytics or engineering team.
