A Snapshot Of Your Peer Group

  • Accountancy qualification (Chartered Accountant or equivalent)
  • Experience in restructuring, corporate recovery, insolvency or related advisory fields
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Experience supporting or leading financial restructuring engagements, including options assessments, independent business reviews (IBRs), and stakeholderled restructuring processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders under pressure
  • Excellent drive, commitment and enthusiasm, combined with strong project management discipline

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Associate Director or Manager or to join our growing Turnaround & Restructuring practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most complex and high-profile restructuring, insolvency and advisory assignments across the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will take a leading role in managing client engagements, developing and mentoring team members, and supporting business development initiatives, while working closely with lenders, investors, corporates and other key stakeholders. We are looking for an individual with strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities Include

Client Delivery

  • Lead a portfolio of restructuring, insolvency and turnaround engagements from inception through to completion
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, lenders, legal advisers, management teams and other key stakeholders
  • Manage complex formal insolvency appointments, including administrations, receiverships, liquidations and bankruptcies, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Lead financial and operational reviews, business viability assessments and options analyses to support stakeholder decision-making
  • Prepare and review reports, stakeholder communications, statutory documentation and other key deliverables to a consistently high standard
  • Identify and proactively manage engagement risks, issues and stakeholder sensitivities, escalating matters where appropriate
  • Support businesses experiencing financial or operational challenges by helping them evaluate restructuring, refinancing and turnaround options
  • Ensure all assignments are delivered in accordance with professional standards, regulatory requirements and internal risk management procedures

Project Management

  • Develop detailed project plans and monitor progress against key milestones and deliverables
  • Manage engagement economics including budgets, WIP, recoveries and billing
  • Manage multidisciplinary engagement teams, coordinating resources, workstreams and deliverables across multiple assignments
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, consistency and scalability across engagements
  • Support the use of technology and data solutions to improve client delivery and reporting

Team Leadership

  • Coach, mentor and develop associates within the team
  • Review work produced by associates and provide constructive feedback
  • Support recruitment, training and performance development initiatives
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performing team culture

Business Development

  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, pitches and client presentations
  • Build relationships with clients, intermediaries, solicitors, tax professionals and colleagues across service lines
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and cross-selling across the wider firm
  • Support marketing and thought leadership initiatives to enhance the profile of the Turnaround and Restructuring practice.
