Facade and Building Jobs

Date: 5 hours ago
City: Newcastle upon Tyne, England
Contract type: Full time

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced BIM & Digital Design Manager to lead our BIM and computational design tools, standards, and workflows across studios.

This is an opportunity to shape how the practice designs and delivers, not just administer a toolset; working across our Revit and Forma environments, our script register, and our in-house AI programme.

Key Responsibilities

→ Driving adoption and standards for Autodesk Revit and Forma, including deployment, upgrades, and how Forma fits our wider common data environment.

→ Leading BIM implementation, including project setup, shared coordinates, model federation, model health and auditing, information exchange, and multidisciplinary coordination.

→ Owning practice BIM standards and quality assurance, ensuring consistent model structure, content, templates and information requirements.

→ Leading Autodesk Construction Cloud/Autodesk Docs workflows, including model coordination, issue management, information exchange, and integration with our wider common data environment.

→ Leading BIM and information management requirements across projects, including BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), responsibility matrices and information delivery planning, supporting ISO 19650 compliance.

→ Leading automation and scripting to support delivery, and maintaining script register and template libraries.

→ Identifying and driving automation opportunities that improve efficiency across project delivery, from documentation to specification and drawing outputs.

→ Owning data protocols and standards across studios, and developing our digital twin capability, building on existing GIS experience in the Vancouver team.

→ Supporting project teams with modelling, scripting and coordination across all RIBA stages, acting as an escalation point for more complex digital delivery issues.

→ Delivering Revit and computational design training across studios, and running regular user group sessions.

→ Acting as subject matter expert for 3D design and BIM delivery, while contributing to our broader digital transformation work alongside the IT & AI teams.

Forward Thinking

→ Shape how our models and data stay useful beyond handover, supporting long-term asset performance, not just design delivery.

→ Explore how digital twins, GIS, live building data and predictive maintenance thinking can feed into projects.

→ Explore how AI, computational design and automation can improve design quality, coordination and project delivery, turning emerging technologies into practical workflows.

→ Work alongside our IT & AI function to test, evaluate and introduce new digital technologies across the practice.

Skills And Knowledge

→ 5+ years’ experience in BIM management or a related digital design role within architectural practice or the wider design industry.

→ Demonstrable proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with experience managing BIM delivery on complex projects and a good working knowledge of Rhino.

→ Strong working knowledge of BIM and information management processes, including BIM Execution Plans and ISO 19650.

→ Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud/Autodesk Docs, model coordination, auditing and multidisciplinary information exchange.

→ Experience owning BIM standards, templates, and technology adoption across multiple teams or offices. → Experience with, or a strong interest in, computational design, scripting and automation.

→ An interest in emerging digital technologies and how AI tools can connect with design and delivery workflows.

→ Strong communication and coaching skills, with a track record of driving adoption independently
