Academy Education Assistant

Doncaster Rovers Football Club is seeking to appoint two enthusiastic and committed Volunteers to support the education programme for our Under-15 and Under-16 Academy players.

These roles provide an excellent opportunity for aspiring or developing secondary teachers to gain valuable experience within an elite sporting environment while being supported by experienced education professionals. We are particularly interested in applicants who either:

• Hold (or currently studying towards) a PGCE, appropriate for Secondary School teaching.
• One of the successful applicants must be confident delivering GCSE English and/or GCSE Mathematics.

The successful candidates will support the facilitation/delivery of Year 10 and 11 lessons, helping Academy players achieve their academic potential alongside their football development, as part of a hybrid programme. Learners will spend 1 day/week on school release programme, on a Tuesday/Thursday, where they will spend time in the classroom to study their normal academic lessons.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high-quality GCSE lessons to Under-15 and Under-16 Academy players.

• Deliver/Facilitate lessons and / or workshops where appropriate under the guidance of the Head of Education.
• Provide academic support to learners working towards GCSE qualifications.
• Monitor learner progress and contribute to tracking academic achievement.
• Support learners requiring additional intervention or catch-up sessions.
• Promote excellent behaviour, attendance and engagement in learning.
• Maintain accurate records where required.
• Contribute positively to the Academy's educational environment and culture.
• Uphold the safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing of all Academy players.
• Adhere to all Club, EFL and FA safeguarding and compliance procedures.
