Background

The IT Project Management team at City is responsible for delivering a portfolio of IT initiatives, including strategic programmes, technology infrastructure change projects including upgrades, enhancements to existing services, and implementation of new services. The team work closely with technical and architecture teams, and stakeholders from across the university, to ensure projects within the IT portfolio are delivered on time, cost and to relevant quality standards.

The role holder will be responsible for the definition and delivery of IT projects within agreed parameters of scope, time, cost, and quality. The post will be part of the IT Project Management team.

Responsibilities

Manage the definition and delivery of projects as allocated, typically strategic in nature, in support of the lifecycle of existing IT services and infrastructure, or that introduce new IT services.

Ensure the defined service design and transition processes are followed when introducing, enhancing, or decommissioning IT services.

Deliver effective communication and reporting of progress, maintaining a clear record of control parameters including decisions, costs, time, resourcing, and changes to scope etc.

Monitor, control, and report on the delivery progress against the defined plan, identifying and managing risks and opportunities to keep the work on track, controlling changes to baseline plans where needed, following the relevant change control processes.

Identify and engage stakeholders and project team members appropriately, with responsibilities and resource requirements clearly defined and agreed.

Manage stakeholder expectations through effective communication and engagement.
