Job Details

  • Location: Bedford, MS Therapy Centre
  • Hours: Fridays, 9.00am to 4.00pm (from October 2026)
  • Pay: £15.93 per hour

Carers in Bedfordshire is delighted to be bringing back its much-loved respite service from October, and we’re looking for warm, friendly and engaging Sessional Workers to join our team.

This rewarding role involves supporting adults with care needs to enjoy meaningful activities, social interaction and a welcoming environment, while providing their unpaid carers with valuable time to recharge.

About the Role

As a Respite Centre Sessional Worker, you will play an important part in helping us deliver high-quality respite sessions for people with care needs. You will work alongside Carers in Bedfordshire staff and volunteers to create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment where attendees can take part in activities, socialise and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting attendees throughout respite sessions
  • Encouraging participation in activities and social opportunities
  • Helping to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment
  • Providing practical assistance where appropriate
  • Working collaboratively with staff, volunteers and carers
  • Contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the service
  • Following safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies and procedures

As this role involves working with vulnerable adults, an Enhanced DBS check will be required. Applicants who are already subscribed to the DBS Update Service are encouraged to highlight this in their application, as this may help to speed up the recruitment process.
