About The Role
At TGI Fridays, we’re all about delivering unforgettable experiences—and that starts with safe, compliant, and well-maintained restaurants. We’re looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead the delivery of best-in-class maintenance services across our UK estate.
This is a field-based role responsible for ensuring our restaurants operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption. You’ll oversee planned preventative maintenance, refurbishment programmes, statutory compliance, and reactive support—including 24/7 emergency response where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure restaurants can respond effectively to business-critical, health & safety, and emergency situations to minimise downtime and maintain safe, legal trading.
- Deliver all maintenance services to agreed timeframes, budgets, quality standards, and SLAs.
- Maintain full statutory and mandatory compliance across the estate.
- Drive continuous improvement and cost efficiencies in line with planned programmes.
- Reduce business interruptions by implementing and enhancing preventative maintenance strategies.
- Develop processes that balance planned and reactive maintenance to minimise disruption.
- Manage building assets and equipment in line with statutory requirements and lifecycle cost principles.
- Develop long-term asset lifecycle strategies, including end-of-life planning and investment proposals.
- Oversee all maintenance contracts, ensuring consistent service delivery, cost control, and quality assurance.
- Monitor supplier performance through SLAs and KPIs, driving improvements where needed.
- Establish robust contractor management processes, including approval schemes and H&S compliance (RAMS, CPPs).
- Work with the Head of Capital Projects to deliver refurbishment programmes and prioritise investment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the internal maintenance team to deliver best-in-class support.
- Promote continuous professional development and stay up to date with industry best practices and legal requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Solid understanding of compliance and Health & Safety regulations (including HVAC).
- Experience managing budgets and delivering cost efficiencies.
- Technical knowledge of M&E, HVAC, and building maintenance.
- Multi-site facilities management experience (minimum 5 years in a Manager/Supervisor role).
- Experience within hospitality or leisure is advantageous.
- CAFM system experience.
- Contractor and supplier management expertise.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- IWFM membership (desirable).
Additional Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to travel and stay overnight when required.
