Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out routine legionella control tasks including temperature monitoring, flushing of infrequently used outlets, and visual inspections of water storage tanks, calorifiers, and pipework
- Take water samples for microbiological (legionella, TVC) and chemical analysis in line with schedules
- Carry out tank cleans, chlorination, and disinfection of hot and cold water systems
- Clean and descale shower heads, tap fittings, and outlets as part of scheduled maintenance
- Complete accurate, timely written and digital reports (log books, asset registers, non-conformance reports) for each site visit
- Identify and report deficiencies, defects, or non-compliance issues recommending remedial action
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe systems of work, permits to work, PPE requirements, and COSHH regulations
- Liaise professionally with client site contacts, facilities managers, and building occupants
Skills & Qualifications Required
Knowledge & Understanding
- Previous experience in water hygiene, water treatment, or a related M&E/building services role
- Working knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance
- Comfortable working at height, in confined spaces, and in plant rooms
- Good written communication skills for accurate record-keeping and reporting
- Experience using digital reporting/asset management software
- Willingness to undertake DBS check where required for site access
Qualifications
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Legionella Control / Water Treatment (desirable)
- Confined Space Entry, Working at Height, or IPAF certification (desirable)
