We're partnering with a well-established and highly respected Employment Law consultancy to appoint an experienced Head of Employment Law.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded Employment Solicitor or CILEX professional who enjoys leading people, building strong client relationships and delivering exceptional employment law advice.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you'll lead a team of five Employment Law Consultants while remaining hands-on with a portfolio of SME clients across the UK. You'll play a key role in developing the team, maintaining exceptional client service standards and helping drive the continued growth and success of the business.

The Role

As Head of Employment Law, you will:

• Lead, coach and develop a team of five Employment Law Consultants
• Provide expert Employment Law and HR advice to a portfolio of SME clients across the UK
• Build trusted, long-term client relationships through pragmatic, commercially focused advice
• Support consultants with complex and high-risk Employment Law matters
• Ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across the team
• Work closely with the Commercial Director to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Provide practical guidance across the full employee lifecycle
• Deliver consultancy services including investigations, disciplinary and grievance hearings, consultations and management training where required
• Keep abreast of legislative changes and ensure advice remains legally compliant and commercially relevant
• Support business growth through excellent client retention and service delivery

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical Employment Law knowledge with proven leadership experience.

You'll ideally have:

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX)
• Significant Employment Law advisory experience, ideally within a consultancy or professional services environment
• Previous experience leading or mentoring a team
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent client relationship skills
• Experience advising employers on matters including; Disciplinary and grievance, Performance and capability management, Absence management, Redundancy and restructuring, TUPE, Discrimination and equality matters, Settlement agreements, General HR and Employment Law issues
• Employment Tribunal experience would be advantageous but is not essential
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
