About Green IP

Green IP is a fast-paced, growing technology business with ambitious plans for the future. As we continue to scale, we want to build a strong, positive and growth-focused culture across the business.

Our people are central to our success, and we are looking for someone who can help us create clear standards, support our managers, develop our teams and make Green IP a great place to work.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and dynamic People & Culture Manager / HR Manager to support the next stage of Green IP’s growth.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about people, culture, development and standards. You do not need to have years of senior HR management experience — we are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, strong people skills, good HR knowledge and the ambition to grow with the business.

The role can be full time or part time based on the candidate. The salary will be competitive whether full or part time, along with benefits such as private health insurance and cover, generous pension contribution.

As Green IP continues to develop, we see AI becoming part of the modern workforce — helping people work smarter, improve productivity and focus more time on higher-value work. This role will help support that journey by encouraging a culture where people are open to learning, adapting and using new tools confidently and responsibly.

The right person will be hands-on, organised, commercially aware and excited by the opportunity to help shape how Green IP supports, develops and manages its people.

The Opportunity

This is not just a role to maintain HR processes. It is an opportunity to help build a people function that supports growth, culture, standards, training and employee development across Green IP.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Proactive, energetic and keen to make a difference.
  • Confident working with people at all levels of the business.
  • Passionate about building a positive, growth-focused culture.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growing SME environment.
  • Organised, practical and able to bring structure where needed.
  • Approachable, professional and able to build trust with employees and managers.
  • Interested in training, development, standards and employee experience.
  • Open-minded about the role AI and technology can play in improving the way people work.
  • Able to support employees and managers as the business adopts new tools, systems and ways of working.
  • Commercially minded and able to balance people needs with business needs.
  • Looking for an opportunity to grow with the business and help shape the people function.

Key Responsibilities

Culture and Employee Engagement

  • Help embed a positive, growth-based culture across Green IP.
  • Support initiatives that improve employee engagement, communication and experience.
  • Work with leaders and managers to define and maintain clear standards across the business.
  • Help create an environment where people feel supported, valued and accountable.

Training, Development and AI Adoption

  • Support the development of training plans across the business.
  • Help identify skills gaps and development needs.
  • Work with managers to improve one-to-ones, feedback and performance conversations.
  • Support the creation of personal development plans and career development frameworks.
  • Help build a culture where learning, growth and continuous improvement are part of day-to-day work.
  • Support the business in helping employees understand and adopt AI and automation tools in a practical, responsible and confidence-building way.
  • Encourage a mindset where AI is seen as a tool to enhance people’s work, improve productivity and support better outcomes — not replace the value of people.

HR Support and People Processes

  • Provide practical HR support to managers and employees.
  • Help improve HR processes, policies and documentation.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, probation reviews and employee lifecycle activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Ensure HR processes are fair, consistent and aligned with UK employment law.

Manager Support

  • Support managers with people-related matters in a practical and professional way.
  • Help managers apply company standards consistently.
  • Provide guidance on absence, conduct, capability and performance matters.
  • Encourage early, constructive conversations to resolve issues before they escalate.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Support the recruitment process, including job adverts, candidate screening and interviews.
  • Help ensure new starters receive a positive and structured onboarding experience.
  • Support probation review processes and early development conversations.
  • Help Green IP attract people who are aligned with the company’s values and growth plans.

Experience and Qualifications

We are more interested in finding the right person than someone who ticks every box.

Essential

  • Some previous experience in HR, people operations, recruitment, employee support or a similar people-focused role.
  • A good understanding of HR basics and workplace best practice.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills.
  • Confidence working with managers and employees.
  • A practical, common-sense approach to problem solving.
  • A genuine interest in culture, training, employee development and business growth.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially.

Desirable

  • CIPD Level 3, Level 5, or working towards a CIPD qualification.
  • Experience in a growing SME or fast-paced business.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding or employee development.
  • Experience helping improve HR policies, processes or employee documentation.
  • Interest in training, coaching, management development or employee engagement.
  • Interest in how AI and technology can support productivity, learning and better ways of working.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role would mean:

  • Green IP has clearer and more consistent people processes.
  • Employees understand expectations, standards and development opportunities.
  • Managers feel better supported when handling people matters.
  • Training and development become more structured across the business.
  • New starters have a stronger onboarding experience.
  • Employees feel supported in adopting useful new tools, including AI, in a responsible and practical way.
  • HR activity supports business growth rather than simply reacting to issues.
  • Green IP continues to build a positive, professional and growth-focused culture.
