We are currently looking for OT Field Engineers to join our Asset Management Business Unit.

The role will be based in Warrington, with our Client (United Utilities) and willing to travel to and from sites throughout the Northwest of England is essential.

What does the role involve?

You’ll assist with the technical delivery of projects to achieve agreed time, cost and quality targets on behalf of the Client, as well as to provide technical input to Operational Technology related projects. The initial requirement is to support the Client in undertaking Event Duration Monitoring (EDM) Asset Surveys at approx. 270 No Treatment Sites and potential follow-on work.

Project Start-up

  • Attending internal project start-up meetings.
  • Providing technical perspectives for delivery phases.

Project Delivery

  • Producing design deliverables to achieve the optimum engineering solution for the project.
  • Delivering Instrumentation Control and Automation (ICA) projects, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, Telemetry, IoT technologies and Data Networks.
  • Assessing, documenting, and communicating design change to the Project Manager (PM).
  • Participating in technical reviews.
  • Checking design outputs before submission to the PM/Technical Authority for approval.
  • Attending internal project review meetings.

Post Project Review

  • Providing technical input for continuous improvement feedback.

To be successful in this role you’ll

  • Have electrical qualifications or apprentice trained.
  • Have an Instrumentation and process control background including good knowledge of: PLC’s, SCADA, HMIs, IoT technologies and Data Networks.
  • Have experience in site supervision of ICA/SCADA contractors working on multiple projects. Ideally this experience will include water and wastewater processing.
  • Have experience of preparation and review of design documentation, such as User Requirement Specifications (URS’s).
  • Have experience of preparation and review of scoping documentation, such as specifications for ICA /SCADA and telemetry equipment & services.
  • Have experience of attending ICA and OT system FAT (Factory acceptance test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), configuration auditing and UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
  • Recognise that delivering sustainable outcomes involves applying sustainability skills to overcome internal and external challenges e.g., whole life costs, carbon, performance, and risks.
  • Have good client relationship skills to be able to develop and build effective client relationships that lead to future opportunities.
  • Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to adapt your style to suit difference audiences.
  • Have a relevant degree, HND or equivalent.
