Cardiff and Vale College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Progress Coach to join our Independent Living Skills (ILS) team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting learners throughout their College journey, helping them to overcome barriers, achieve their goals and develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for their next steps.

Working closely with curriculum staff, Student Services, parents, carers and external agencies, you will provide high-quality pastoral support that promotes attendance, engagement, wellbeing, progress and achievement.

What You'll Do

As a Progress Coach, you will provide individual guidance, mentoring and targeted interventions to support learners in reaching their full potential. You will monitor attendance, punctuality, progress and learner engagement, taking proactive steps to address concerns and celebrate successes.

You will conduct regular one-to-one reviews, set meaningful targets and work closely with curriculum teams to ensure learners remain on track to achieve their goals. The role will also involve delivering personal development sessions, supporting progression planning and ensuring learners can access the support and opportunities they need to succeed.

About You

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting learners and committed to helping young people achieve their aspirations.

You will have experience of providing support, guidance or mentoring to individuals, together with the ability to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues, parents/carers and external partners. You will be highly organised, an effective communicator and able to manage multiple priorities within a busy environment.

A strong commitment to safeguarding, learner wellbeing, inclusion and positive outcomes is essential.
