Our Kitchens team is responsible for the preparation, cooking and presentation of food for a variety of events and audiences across our locations. Be it staff catering and small lunches, or receptions and State Dinners, the team aim to make the most of seasonal, sustainable produce and ingredients.

Joining this accomplished and close-knit team you’ll ensure the kitchens and catering teams have the supplies, equipment and stock they need to deliver outstanding service.

Working closely with chefs, purchasing colleagues and catering teams, you'll oversee deliveries, maintain stock control processes and ensure food and supplies are stored safely, accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • As Senior Storekeeper, you'll oversee all food, equipment and supply deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • You'll organise and store deliveries appropriately within storerooms and refrigerated areas, ensuring stock is handled safely and efficiently.
  • Maintaining effective stock control processes, you'll support stock takes, monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • You'll ensure stock rotation procedures are consistently followed, maintaining product quality and minimising waste.
  • You'll complete goods receiving, traceability and stock documentation accurately and in line with food safety requirements.
  • You'll travel to and work at other locations alongside the team’s activities, establishing temporary storerooms and coordinating the movement of stock and supplies.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness, organisation and operational readiness of goods receiving and storage areas, you'll help ensure the highest standards are consistently achieved.
  • You'll support wider catering operations during large scale events and contribute to sustainability initiatives by helping reduce waste.

Additional points

  • Working hours: an average of 45 hours per week.Typically Monday to Friday, however, occasional weekend working will be required, and working hours may vary depending on occasion.
  • Although this role is based at Buckingham Palace in London, you’ll also work at different locations within the UK throughout the year (amounting to approx. 4-5 weeks per year).
  • When working at other locations, accommodation and meals will be provided when required.
  • This role involves regular movement of heavy loads and long periods spent on your feet.

About you

Essential Criteria

  • You'll have previous experience coordinating food stores, deliveries and stock systems, ideally within a catering, hospitality or similar environment.
  • Highly organised and detail-focused, you'll take pride in maintaining accurate records and high standards of stock management.
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene, Food Safety and temperature control procedures, and FIFO stock rotation processes would be beneficial, however full training will be provided.
  • Able to manage your workload effectively, demonstrating strong planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, you'll communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues from across the organisation.
  • You'll have good numeracy skills and a methodical approach to maintaining stock control processes.

Desirable Criteria

  • A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience of manual handling.
