Two Full-Time Permanent Vacancies (37 Hours per Week) assisting/supporting BTEC Level 1 Sports programme and BTEC E3 Vocational Studies & L1 Hospitality programme
Location: Project Challenge @ Orange Box, Halifax Town Centre

Pay Scale: Scale 5 – SO1 (Scale Points 12–25), dependent on qualifications and experience.
Applicants appointed as Teaching Assistants will commence on Scale 5.
Applicants who hold a recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent) and are appointed as Higher Level Teaching Assistants will commence on SO1. Salary progression is dependent on qualifications, experience and the responsibilities of the role.
About Project Challenge
Project Challenge is a small, independent charity delivering alternative education provision from Orange Box in the centre of Halifax. We provide a supportive, inclusive learning environment for young people who require an alternative approach to education, helping them achieve positive academic, personal and social outcomes.
We are seeking to recruit two committed, enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistants/Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team.
About the Roles
These are rewarding and varied roles supporting young people who may present with challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The ability to build positive relationships, manage challenging behaviour and work with empathy and consistency is essential. Previous experience of working with this client group is highly desirable.
Both posts include an expectation to deliver some teaching sessions. As valued members of our staff team, our TAs/HLTAs play an active role in shaping and developing our provision. We encourage staff to contribute ideas to curriculum development and to bring their own interests, knowledge and skills to enhance students' learning experiences.
Sports BTEC Vacancy
You will primarily support and help deliver our Sports BTEC programme. Applicants with experience or qualifications in sport, coaching, fitness or physical education are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about engaging young people through practical and active learning.
Vocational Studies & Hospitality BTEC Vacancy
You will primarily support and help deliver our Vocational Studies and Hospitality BTEC programme. Applicants with experience or an interest in hospitality, catering, food preparation, vocational learning or employability skills are encouraged to apply.
