SCOPE

The Apprentice Maintenance Electrician will work under the supervision of qualified electricians, supervisors and contract managers to develop the practical skills and technical knowledge required to become a fully qualified maintenance electrician. The role is primarily based on planned and reactive maintenance across commercial and residential properties, providing exposure to electrical building services including switchboards, generators, ATS systems, emergency lighting, fire alarms, PLC controlled equipment and inspection and testing.

A Typical Week Will Include

Onsite Work: Assisting with the installation, commissioning, testing, and inspection of electrical systems alongside experienced engineers. Look to provide the required evidence for your field work within your NVQ.

Maintenance Work: Supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities, including fault finding, repairs, and energy efficiency improvements. The role will also involve attending static sites to gain greater exposure to electrical building services systems and further develop technical knowledge in this area.

Training & Development: Completing the apprenticeship programme, attending college, maintaining an NVQ portfolio and learning from experienced engineers to achieve professional competence.
