About The Role

Reporting to the IT Service Delivery Lead, we are looking for an approachable, capable and proactive individual to join our growing IT Team. This is a varied role covering end-user support, business-as-usual IT activity, hardware and software management, and involvement in new projects and service improvements. The role will suit someone who can take ownership, work well both individually and as part of a team, communicate clearly, and follow tasks through to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective hands-on IT support across a range of end-user hardware, software, systems and services.
  • Support day-to-day IT operations, including incident response, service requests, user administration and routine business-as-usual activities.
  • Build, configure, maintain and manage end-user devices including laptops, desktops, smartphones and associated peripherals.
  • Build, configure, maintain and manage Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  • Assist with software management, including installation, updates, access control, licensing support and application administration.
  • Use Microsoft 365 and related administration tools to support users, devices, mailboxes, permissions and collaboration services.
  • Contribute to IT projects, system changes, upgrades and service improvement initiatives from planning through to delivery.
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation and follow agreed processes, standards and best working practices.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver reliable IT services.
  • Actively participate in personal development, training, supervision and objectives agreed with your line manager.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by your line manager.

Health & Safety

  • Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner.
  • Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner.
  • When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training.

Qualifications

  • A level or BTEC equivalent in an IT related field is desirable.

Essential

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a similar IT support role, ideally in a busy internal IT environment.
  • Confident using and administering Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 and related admin tools.
  • Practical experience building, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting end-user computers and peripherals.

Desirable

  • Experience with scripting, automation, application packaging, reporting or other technical improvement activities.
  • Experience supporting Linux end-user devices, including basic troubleshooting, configuration and user support.

Personal Attributes

  • Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK.
  • Enthusiasm for IT, service improvement and delivering a positive user experience.
  • Clear and confident communicator with good customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate, prioritise and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Able to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to manage a varied workload.
  • Ability to commit to occasional national travel.
  • A full valid UK driving license.
  • Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK.
