Come and join our fantastic Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) service! This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a community setting supported by a highly experienced 8C Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, 8b Clinical Neuropsychologist and other members of the team.

Clinical Psychologist Band 8a or 7-8a Development post.

We are a community based multi disciplinary service, supporting people to deal with the impact of an acquired brain injury (ABI). The Cheshire part of the team is well established and has been running for 25 years. It provides neuropsychology, vocational rehabilitation and case management to people who have experienced an acquired brain injury in the Cheshire area. The team has links with the local Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programmes to provide lectures, mentoring of trainees and placements. On-going continuing professional development and research is encouraged with practitioners supported to develop their own interests within neuropsychology/ABI.

The successful candidate will be supported to develop their skills in all areas this would include a move from band 7 to band 8A under a structured development process.

To provide neuropsychology services to people who have experienced an ABI and their families in a community MDT setting. We are looking for a confident, friendly individual who has experience of working with people after an ABI or a passion to work with this client group and the drive to support them in managing the aftermath of such a life changing event. You will be required to provide neuropsychological assessment and interventions. The successful candidate will have experience in working within a multidisciplinary setting and helping to guide the person’s rehabilitation. They will have experience in delivering individual therapy that is adapted to the needs of people after an ABI, and helping non-psychology team members work with people who have experienced an ABI through consultation and joint working.

The role involves blended working, including face to face sessions, remote sessions via telephone and video and working from home. It will also involve travelling around Cheshire

The position is suitable for someone already in an 8A role who would like to widen their experience an application or an experienced band 7 practitioner looking to develop in their career. We would also welcome applications from third year trainees who would be appointed to the band 7 role when they gain their professional qualification and registration and then supported to develop into the 8A role.
