About The Role
Teach South seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a school-based preschool in Hailsham. This full-time role, paying £90-£100 daily, begins 2nd September. Working hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm. You will support planning, delivery, and assessment of learning for children aged 2–4 years. Are you a passionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in early years education? We are seeking a dedicated HLTA to join our friendly and nurturing preschool team within our welcoming school in Hailsham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced staff in providing high-quality care and education for children aged 2–4 years, helping to create a stimulating, safe, and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.
The Role As our Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Lead small group and whole-class activities when required.
- Work closely with the Preschool Leader, teachers, and SEND team to support children's individual learning and development.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress.
- Promote children's wellbeing, independence, and confidence through play-based learning.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Holds a recognised HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Has experience working within an Early Years or Preschool setting.
- Has a sound understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
- Is enthusiastic, caring, and committed to providing the very best outcomes for young children.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Can demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
