We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Payroll Administrator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and processing timesheets for our contracted workforce. Your primary focus will be on ensuring accurate and timely submissions, validating hours worked, and liaising with contractors to resolve any discrepancies. The ideal candidate should have strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of payroll processes.

The role will join a dedicated and vibrant team, currently made up of 6 finance colleagues, working out of a mixture of our new Billericay office and home.

What will you do?

  • Review timesheets and expenses from contractors, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to client policies and project requirements
  • Ensure timesheets and expenses are processed promptly, coordinating with the rest of the payroll and finance teams to meet payroll deadlines
  • Assist with the end to end payroll process ensuring accuracy & deadlines met
  • Verify hours worked, overtime, travel days, and any relevant timesheet requirements, to ensure accurate payment and billing processing
  • Serve as a point of contact for contractors and clients answering queries in a timely & professional manner
  • Email inbox monitoring and query resolution
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest efficient ways to streamline timesheet management

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in payroll/finance administration, timesheet management, or a related field
  • Experience in high volume payroll
  • UK PAYE experience required for this role
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Proficiency in using timesheet software and MS Office suite
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with contractors and internal teams
  • Experience using timesheet software in a recruitment business is a plus
