DN Colleges Group is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable
Health and Safety Officer to join our Health and Safety team. This is an excellent opportunity for a health and safety professional who is passionate about creating safe learning and working environments for students, apprentices, staff and external partners.
Working closely with the Health and Safety Manager, you will support the delivery of health and safety compliance across our college sites and employer partners, undertaking risk assessments, inspections, audits and investigations whilst providing expert advice and guidance to staff, students and employers.
Essential Criteria
- NEBOSH National General Certificate.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) and two additional GCSEs.
- Previous experience working within a health and safety environment.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and workplace best practice.
- Full driving licence with the ability to travel to employer and partner sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct employer and workplace health and safety risk assessments.
- Carry out inspections, audits and compliance activities across college and partner sites.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying preventative measures. [
- Provide professional advice and guidance to staff, students, apprentices and employers.
- Support fire safety compliance, evacuation procedures and risk assessments.
- Deliver health and safety training and toolkits to staff and students.
- Support educational visits, contractor management and business continuity activities.
- Analyse health and safety data and contribute to reports and performance reviews.

The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
