Ward 3B Provides Care For
- Orthopaedic trauma patients
- Elective orthopaedic patients
- A variety of outlier patients from services including:
- Trauma Assessment Units
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Other wards
- Clinics
This is a diverse and fast-paced environment offering a wide range of clinical experiences.
Ward Manager – Trauma & Orthopaedics (Ward 3B)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Ward Manager within the Trauma and Orthopaedics service on Ward 3B.
As Ward Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the ward, supported by a dedicated team of Deputy Sisters/Charge Nurses. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient-centred care, while upholding professional standards and fostering a positive and inclusive ward culture.
You will be a strong patient advocate, demonstrating excellent communication and leadership skills across all levels of the multidisciplinary team. A sound understanding of the principles of general medical nursing is essential, alongside the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff within a busy orthopaedic environment.
Ward 3B has an established, collaborative team that prides itself on working together to support patients throughout their hospital journey. The successful candidate will embrace this strong team ethos and contribute to continuous service improvement, staff development, and innovation in care delivery.
Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.
United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
