Bid Solutions

Date: 3 days ago
City: Royal Leamington Spa, England
Contract type: Full time

Currently seeking an experience Bid Manager / Writer to join our client based in Leamington Spa.

Our client is a RICS-regulated building surveying and construction project management practice operating across England and Wales. The firm delivers Building Surveys, Contract Administration, Dilapidations, Party Wall, Project Monitoring and Principal Designer services to a growing base of framework, corporate and private clients, including major social housing frameworks.

The business is growing and is looking to win more of its work through structured, high-quality bidding — which is where this role comes in.

The Role

The company is seeking an experienced Bid Manager / Writer to own the bid lifecycle end-to-end: identifying the right framework and tender opportunities, making bid/no-bid decisions, shaping strategy and narrative, and delivering polished, compliant submissions on deadline. This is a pipeline and submission-focused role — once a bid is won, ongoing client relationship management sits elsewhere, allowing the successful candidate to focus purely on winning work.

The role reports directly to the Managing Director and offers genuine influence over how the practice presents itself to the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identifying and tracking new framework and tender opportunities across procurement portals, frameworks and DPS platforms
  • Owning the bid process from qualification through to final submission, across multiple sectors including social housing, commercial, education and public sector
  • Leading bid strategy and crafting compelling written narratives that evidence the firm's technical capability, track record and value
  • Coordinating input from surveyors, directors and external contributors, and translating technical detail into clear, evaluator-friendly responses
  • Completing supplier questionnaires, PQQs, SQs, EOIs and framework applications accurately and on time
  • Building a reusable library of tender responses, case studies, CVs and compliance documentation
  • Tracking bid activity and pipeline status on Monday.com, managing risks and protecting deadlines
  • Quality-checking every submission prior to issue
  • Capturing feedback from wins and losses and feeding learnings back into templates and future bids

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Proven experience managing bids/tenders within construction, surveying or a related built-environment sector
  • Strong understanding of UK public and private sector procurement, including PQQs, SQs, EOIs and framework applications
  • Excellent written English, with the ability to produce clear, concise and persuasive technical narrative
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to run multiple bids to concurrent deadlines
  • Sharp attention to detail and a consistent record of error-free, compliant submissions
  • Confidence coordinating input from technical specialists without direct line authority
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and comfort with cloud-based tools such as Monday.com

Desirable

  • Experience bidding for property, surveying or construction consultancy services (rather than main contracting)
  • Familiarity with portals such as Proactis, Delta eSourcing, In-Tend or Contracts Finder
  • A degree in a construction-related, English or journalism discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience bidding into social housing or public sector frameworks

What Success Looks Like

Within the first year, the successful candidate will have built a structured, well-monitored pipeline of framework and tender opportunities, established a reusable bid content library, and measurably grown the firm's framework win rate — making bidding a core engine of the company's growth.
