An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced individual to join our Research & Innovation research support team as a Band 6 Research Project Manager. This role is pivotal in supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of research studies across the organisation.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and oversight of an allocated portfolio of research projects, ensuring studies are delivered to time, target, and quality standards in line with regulatory and governance requirements.

You will work closely with clinical teams, investigators, sponsor teams , and external partners to facilitate efficient study set-up, recruitment, and delivery.

The role requires a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage competing priorities. You will contribute to improving research performance, supporting innovation, and ensuring patients have access to high-quality research opportunities.

The Research Project Manager will lead the coordination and delivery of assigned research studies/portfolio, ensuring milestones, timelines, and recruitment targets are met.

You will oversee study set-up, including regulatory approvals, governance requirements, and site initiation processes, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant frameworks

The role involves monitoring study performance, managing risks and issues, and maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting systems.

You will act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, facilitating communication between internal teams and external partners, including sponsors and collaborators.

We are looking for an individual with experience in research delivery or project management, ideally within a healthcare or NHS setting. You should have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

A good understanding of research governance and regulatory requirements is required, alongside the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A proactive approach, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high-quality research delivery are key to success in this role

The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.
