Trainee Paralegal or Paralegal - Grantham, Lincolnshire
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Paralegal or Paralegal to join our New Homes Purchase Team based at our Grantham office.
We are seeking an individual who ideally holds a Law degree (desirable) and/or has relevant professional experience within Residential Property Law.
This role will support our New Homes Purchase Team and will involve handling new-build purchase matters alongside routine residential conveyancing work. The successful candidate will have direct client contact and will assist with, and progressively undertake, a varied caseload of new-build purchase transactions and other residential conveyancing matters.
The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines. They will be committed to delivering an excellent client experience and maintaining the highest standards of client care.

Hours: 9am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday
Salary: Dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
- To provide an excellent and ongoing service to existing clients.
- Support Partners and other Fee Earners in developing new business opportunities and maximising cross-referral opportunities across all offices and departments.
- Produce fee income in line with agreed targets and objectives.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and practice developments.
- Support Fee Earners with a caseload of conveyancing matters, including new-build purchases, residential conveyancing transactions, and related work.
- Prepare and issue quotations.
- Undertake property searches and assist with enquiries.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, developers, and other third parties as required.
- Draft and prepare standard contract documentation and correspondence.
- Assist with all stages of the conveyancing process, including exchange, completion, and post-completion formalities, such as Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions, Companies House filings, and Land Registry registrations.
- Ensure files are progressed efficiently and prioritised in accordance with deadlines and business needs.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all information is recorded on the firm's case management system.
- Undertake file closure procedures in accordance with firm requirements.
- Work collaboratively as part of the wider team and provide support to colleagues when required.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
- Law Degree
- Experience of working in a law firm in Residential Conveyancing.
- Understanding of Conveyancing procedures.
- High level of competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Desirable Experience
- Competent in using case management systems.
- Solicitors Account Rules.
- Clear understanding of Money Laundering Regulations and general compliance procedures
- Previous experience of SOS Connect
