Workshop Fitter required in Petersfield, East Hampshire
£40,980.81 per annum
40 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm
East Hampshire Norse is a highly successful partnership between Norse Group and East Hampshire District Council. One of our key pieces of work within East Hampshire is our waste collection service. We mobilise a large fleet of Refuse Collection Vehicles. Due to this, we are moving our vehicle maintenance and upkeep inhouse and therefore seek a Workshop Fitter to join our team and assist in the maintenance of this fleet.
The role
As Workshop Fitter, you will be responsible for the upkeep of the company fleet of LGV and HGV vehicles ensuring all vehicles are maintained and kept up to industry standards. The bulk of these repairs will be minor and/or cosmetic to ensure our fleet is able to keep running their waste services.
Typical Work Will Include, But Is Not Limited To
Tyre, Screen and Fluid checks*
MOT preparation*
Pre and Post Service checks*
Cosmetic replacements*
Leak repairs*
Minor electronical faults*
Management of parts stock and delivery*
On top of this, you will also be responsible for the recovery of our fleet to ensure this can continue its service or be transported to the workshop to be repaired. Should this be outside of working hours, you will be entitled to an overtime rate of 1.5x. You will be provided with a van with the necessary tools to conduct such repairs and maintenance.
Our ideal candidate
- C1 Driving Licence
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance standards required for HGV and LGV operation.
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety and its impact in vehicle repair operations.
- Experience in the inspection, repair and maintenance of all types of large and small commercial vehicles.
- Confident and able to work independently
