The Role

The Assistant Management Accountant sits at the heart of the Finance function, keeping the day-to-day numbers accurate, timely and well-organised.

This role goes beyond day-to-day processing. You will take ownership of key revenue and cost processes, prepare a first draft of the monthly management accounts, and provide meaningful variance analysis and reporting to support commercial decision-making.

You will be proactive, commercially curious and committed to accuracy spotting issues before they become problems and looking for smarter, more scalable ways of working.

Working closely with the Management Accountant and wider business teams, you will help Finance operate efficiently, strengthen controls, improve processes and deliver real value across Infinity Tracking Limited.

What You’ll Own

Revenue, Billing & Renewals

  • Own the end-to-end billing process, ensuring customer invoicing is accurate, complete and on time
  • Work with Sales and Customer Success to keep billing data, contract updates and customer changes accurate; investigate and resolve billing anomalies and revenue movements
  • Prepare monthly reporting on renewals, ARR movements, churn and billing variances, identifying revenue leakage and recommending corrective actions

Supplier Management & Accounts Payable

  • Maintain an accurate supplier database, including financial details, contractual information and key dates
  • Process and review purchase invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approval and compliance with purchasing policy; track outstanding POs and support accruals at month end
  • Analyse supplier spend and cost movements, highlighting budget variances and savings opportunities
  • Maintain the expenses system, ensuring employee expenses and credit card submissions are accurately coded, compliant and reported

Payments, Debtors & Bank

  • Process supplier and statutory payments in line with agreed terms and approval controls, ensuring bank postings are accurate and reconciled
  • Support debtor management by allocating receipts, reconciling balances and providing clear information to Credit Control; investigate reconciling items promptly and maintain accurate audit trails

Management Accounts & Balance Sheet

  • Prepare a first draft of the monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and supporting schedules
  • Prepare and post monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, deferred income, payroll and intercompany entries
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and anomalies, and support the Management Accountant with reporting and commentary

Commercial Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyse gross profit, overheads, customer profitability and operational costs, investigating variances and understanding key financial drivers
  • Support the Management Accountant with budget reviews, forecasts and reporting, providing accurate variance analysis and clear commentary

Fixed Assets, VAT & Payroll

  • Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring additions, disposals, depreciation and asset movements are recorded accurately
  • Prepare VAT return workings and supporting schedules, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
  • Support payroll preparation, reconciliations and journals, including pensions and benefits administration

Audit & Process Improvement

  • Prepare audit schedules, the year-end pack and all supporting documentation, and take an active role during the audit itself
  • Support process improvement across Finance and provide ad hoc cover across the team as required

Essential

What We’re Looking For

  • Part-qualified AAT, ACCA or CIMA, or qualified by relevant experience
  • Experience in a finance role covering month-end processes, reconciliations, accounts payable, billing, revenue or management reporting
  • Strong accounting knowledge across accruals, prepayments, journals, reconciliations and management accounts preparation
  • Proactive and commercially curious, with the confidence to investigate issues and propose solutions
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership over accuracy, completeness and deadlines
  • Competent in Excel and comfortable working with large datasets and financial systems
  • An interest in process improvement and automation, with a curiosity for how finance technology can help
  • Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, able to build credibility across teams
  • Able to manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

  • Experience in a SaaS, subscription, technology or high-growth business
  • Familiarity with Sage 200 and Sage Intacct
