Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our friendly, patient‑focused team at Whitstable & Tankerton Hospital. If you’re passionate about delivering exceptional care and want to make a meaningful difference every single day, this role is for you.

Our inpatient unit is led by a supportive matron and powered by a multidisciplinary team of registered nurses, healthcare assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation assistants, care management staff, pharmacists, and visiting medical officers. Together, we provide high‑quality rehabilitation and compassionate end‑of‑life care for adults aged 18+.

  • Under the direction of the Matron and Clinical Sisters, you will be responsible and accountable for the holistic care of a named group of patients
  • With the support of the Matron and Clinical Sisters, you will be responsible for maintaining clinical standards demonstrating leadership skills
  • In the absence of senior staff, you need to have the confidence, knowledge and skills to take charge of the ward and the hospital
  • You will be expected to participate in 24hour internal rotation and undertake other duties where requested which are compatible with the grading of the post
  • You will be expected to move to other community Hospital sites to cover the needs of the service, therefore a full driving licence is essential
