An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Head & Neck Services (ENT, OMFS & Audiology) to an Assistant Directorate Manager.

This post is Fixed Term/Secondment for 6 months after start date has been confirmed to cover maternity leave. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a key member of the Directorate Management Team and will provide expertise and deputise for the Head & Neck Deputy Directorate Manager. They will be expected to provide expertise and manage services within Head & Neck Services to ensure they are delivered effectively and efficiently in line with divisional strategic and operational objectives and policy.

Education

Essential criteria

  • Education to Masters degree level or equivalent professional qualification, for example, relevant Post Graduate qualification.

Desirable criteria

  • Post Graduate Health or Management Diploma

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Relevant experience of managing a clinical service.
  • Experience of effective performance management.

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience of working within surgical specialities

Skills & knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, negotiating and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Evidence of creative and inspirational approach to problem solving.

Personal qualities

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of ability to quickly gain and maintain credibility with Clinical and Managerial colleagues.
  • Set and maintain high quality patient service and quality standards.
