Your Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering and growing the Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) programme across Stockport. You will lead on coordinating our volunteer Parent Group Leaders (PGLs) supporting high-quality delivery of parenting programmes that make a real difference to families. Working in partnership with key partners you will drive recruitment and engagement, ensuring courses reach those who would benefit most.

With responsibility for coordinating delivery, supporting a volunteer workforce and responding to challenges, you will use your judgement and initiative to ensure programmes run effectively. You will also contribute to partnership working, promotion and performance monitoring, helping to shape a responsive, accessible and impactful service.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and empathetic individual who is passionate about supporting parents, families and communities. You will bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage a wide range of people and work effectively in partnership with others. Experience of working with families or community groups and supporting group-based delivery is essential.

You will be organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities, using your judgement to respond to challenges and support consistent delivery. A commitment to inclusion, respect and continuous improvement is key, along with the ability to support and motivate volunteers to achieve positive outcomes.

As part of Stockport’s Best Start Family Hubs, we offer a supportive and collaborative working environment where you’ll be valued and developed. You’ll benefit from working alongside an experienced EPEC Hub Coordinator and skilled colleagues, with access to a wide range of SMBC training and development opportunities.

We are committed to your professional growth, offering opportunities to build your skills in programme coordination, community engagement and partnership working, while being part of a forward-thinking service focused on improving outcomes for children and families.
