The Society

The Rechabite Friendly Society, which trades as Healthy Investment and Red Rose Assurance is looking to appoint an experienced financial services Compliance Manager to support the next phase of the Society’s strategy for growth.

The mutually owned Society manages around £200m of members money and provides a range of With-profits and Unit-linked investments.

The role

The Compliance Manager will be a member of the Society’s senior management and risk management team and will work closely with the Chief Executive, Finance Director and Board.

This is a wide-ranging role that includes reviewing and developing existing compliance frameworks, as well as helping the Society take advantage of future compliance developments, including changes to the ISA regime, revised cost disclosures for investment products and the government’s agenda to double the size of the mutual sector.

Working in a small organisation makes this a very hands-on role which includes signing off financial promotions, completing SMF applications and managing member complaints. It also means that you will be working closely with the Chief Executive, presenting direct to the Board and influencing future strategy.

Evidencing and developing our Consumer Duty strategy and management information will be a significant part of your role, and whilst every member of the team contributes, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and presenting evidence of how we have achieved the Consumer Duty Outcomes.

The successful candidate

You’ll need an absolute minimum of 5 years experience working in financial services compliance, preferably with experience of investments, distribution or mutuality.

Whilst we would prefer evidence of a formal compliance qualification you might be nearing completion of a recognised study programme.

You will have excellent written and communication skills.

The benefits

As well as an interesting, varied and responsible role you will receive:

· Annual Salary £65k

· Pension Contribution of up to 10% following completion of probationary period

· 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays

· Death in service benefit of 2x salary

· Free car parking at our Bury based office
