Windsor Forest Colleges Group is looking for a part time Learning Support Assistant to join the team delivering our 14 to 16 Provision at the Berkshire College of Agriculture. This term time only position is for 20 hours per week across 38 weeks of the year, with a regular schedule working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with a 20 minute unpaid break per day.

This permanent position has a salary ranging from £11,750.26 (G17) up to £12,580.71 (G19), depending on qualifications and experience. The full time equivalent for this scale is £25,483 up to £27,284.

Learning Support Assistant – 14 to 16 Provision

Learning Support Assistants are a vital part of Windsor Forest Colleges Group, helping students fully access their classes, achieve their learning goals and reach their full potential. Reporting to the Schools Programme Manager or Lead Learning Support Assistant, and working under the supervision of teaching staff, you will support whole classes, small groups or individual students in line with college policies and individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

As part of our Schools Provision, you will join a dedicated team supporting young people aged 14 to 16. Your daily responsibilities will include assisting with the planning, delivery and review of learning activities, as well as supporting students to overcome physical, emotional and learning barriers. You will also assist with assignments, exam preparation and the development of essential English, mathematics and ICT skills. In addition, the role involves monitoring student behaviour, maintaining confidential records, adapting learning materials and supporting the use of specialist equipment where required.

To be considered for this role, you should have a positive attitude, a proactive approach and strong organisational skills. We welcome applications from individuals with experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting, and an understanding of how to support neurodivergent learners and those with additional learning needs. Essential qualifications include Level 2 qualifications, such as GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), in both English and Mathematics. Candidates should be flexible and willing to adapt to the varying needs of the department, which may include supporting online learning or providing physical assistance to students with mobility needs. Finally, the successful candidate must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people, strictly adhering to College policies regarding Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Health and Safety, Data Protection and Risk Management.
