About The Role

Lecturer in Banking and Finance (Education and Scholarship)

This part-time (0.7 FTE) post is available, on a fixed term basis, from November 2026 until October 2027.

Salary will be £43,482 per annum pro rata on Grade F subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

The Role

Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy

The post of Lecturer in Banking and Finance be to support the delivery of apprenticeship programmes in financial services and banking.

The post will include design and delivery of modules for apprentices in the areas such as the business environment of financial services and sustainable banking.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent professional experience in banking and finance to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning;
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching .
