Role and Responsibilities

As a Field Service Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive a fast and efficient breakdown response service. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will coordinate engineer callouts, manage customer updates and support the day-to-day operations of the Kettering region.

  • Receive and prioritise breakdown calls.
  • Allocate jobs to field-based engineers using our scheduling systems.
  • Provide customers with regular, accurate updates and ETAs.
  • Act as the first point of contact for engineers throughout the day.
  • Monitor job progress and react quickly to changing priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide updates to the Regional Manager.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while managing multiple tasks.

Essential Experience

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in a planning, scheduling, dispatch, coordinating or customer service role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using multiple systems.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience coordinating mobile engineers, drivers, or field-based teams.
  • Knowledge of the local Kettering and surrounding areas.
  • Experience working within a reactive service or breakdown environment.
