An exciting opportunity has arisen at Queen Elizabeth’s Academy for an exceptional Teaching Assistant to work with an experienced and highly motivated team of professionals within the academy’s SEND department. This is permanent full-time (37 hours per week), term time only position.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and talented professional to work closely across Key Stage 3 & 4 with students who may have specific learning needs or social, emotional, and mental health and/or engagement individual needs. The colleague appointed will provide general classroom and pastoral support for various curriculum programmes and guide students via interventions to overcome barriers to learning in order for them to enjoy learning and achieve their full potential.

Queen Elizabeth’s Academy already has a strong team of professionals delivering high quality learning in and out of the classroom who work together to achieve our academy vision. If you feel you would like to be a part of that team and could make a valuable contribution to driving standards and performance to the next level, we would like to hear from you.

A visit to the Academy, so you can meet the SENCO is warmly welcomed, to enable you to discuss the post in more detail.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be committed to the academy’s vision and values
  • be a driven, proactive, and positive individual with an unwavering commitment to continuously improving their own standards
  • exceptional work ethic and a sense of humour
  • be able to communicate effectively and concisely
  • be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
  • have experience and a desire to work with young people
  • have the confidence to support behaviour in a positive manner and support students with a wide range of abilities and learning needs

Why join Queen Elizabeth’s Academy?

We are a growing secondary academy for students aged 11-18 years based in Mansfield with over 850 students. In our latest Ofsted inspection, we were rated ‘good’ overall with feedback that our academy has ‘established a culture that supports all pupils to learn well’ and that ‘pupils understand the school’s Christian values well’.

Visits are welcomed and encouraged – please contact Ceri Graham, SENCo at ***email_hidden*** to arrange, or for further information.
