Veterinary Surgeon – 7 Days On / 7 Days Off

DE 12 start Leicester, Coventry & Derby | £36,000–£45,000

Seven days on. Seven days completely off.

And this is not a night role.

You’ll work 8am–6pm, with no nights and no on-call beyond these hours, giving you a full seven days away from work every fortnight.

Dignipets Leicester is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing in-home hospice and end-of-life care service.

This is a different kind of veterinary role. You’ll visit pets in their own homes, with the time to focus on quality of life, compassionate end-of-life care and supporting families through difficult decisions.

Why this role is different

7 days on / 7 days off

8am–6pm daytime hours

No nights

No out-of-hours on-call

Average 35 hours per week across the rota

£36,000–£45,000, depending on experience and suitability

Overtime paid when additional hours are required

RVS fees paid

Pension scheme

5.6 weeks’ FTE annual leave, pro rata, plus bank holidays worked

Opportunity for funded IAAHPC further qualifications after a minimum of one year with us

The role

You’ll provide in-home veterinary hospice and end-of-life care across Leicester, Coventry and Derby, with our home base in the DE12 area.

You won’t be doing it alone. You’ll be supported by Dignipets’ online nurses and reception team, alongside our bespoke management system and full training in our approach to hospice and end-of-life care.

About you

We’re looking for someone who brings more than clinical experience.

You’ll need:

• RCVS registration
• Previous UK veterinary experience
• A full clean driving licence
• Excellent communication skills
• A calm, compassionate approach
• Genuine empathy for pets and the people who love them

Unfortunately, we’re unable to support a new graduate in this particular role.
