Speech & Language Therapist

Location: Bury

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Contract: Permanent, term time only

We are currently recruiting for a Speech & Language Therapist to join a successful specialist school in Bury, supporting pupils aged 7–16 with EHCPs.

The school caters primarily for pupils with autism, speech, language and communication difficulties and behavioural needs. Pupils are taught in small classes with support from teachers and teaching assistants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess pupils and identify speech, language and communication needs
  • Deliver one to one and group therapy
  • Complete clinical reports and recommendations
  • Contribute to EHCPs and annual reviews
  • Use practical, engaging and play-based approaches to support communication development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants and other professionals
  • Support pupils within the classroom and wider school environment

About You

  • Qualified SaLT with appropriate professional registration.
  • Previous experience working within a specialist SEN setting is essential.
  • Ideally, experience supporting both verbal and non verbal pupils.
  • Supporting children and young people aged 7–16.
  • Looking for someone practical, proactive and hands on, who can deliver tailored interventions and work closely with the wider staff team.

Initial School Visit: Candidates will have the opportunity to tour the school, meet the team and experience the setting first hand before deciding whether to progress.
