Ramsay is now bringing credit control for its hospitals into a central Finance Hub in Ashtead, and is growing the team.

The role

As a Credit Controller, you'll collect outstanding balances from patients, insurers and other payers, keeping cash flowing and aged debt down. You'll work in either the private medical insurance team or the self-pay team, reporting to the Senior Credit Controller. Full training is provided.

What you'll do

• Manage a ledger of debts from private patients, insurers, NHS bodies and third-party payers

• Chase overdue accounts by phone, email and letter

• Resolve billing queries and disputes promptly, firmly and with empathy

• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies with the billing and hospital teams

• Produce aged debt reports and contribute to monthly reporting

• Escalate accounts to the Senior Credit Controller for legal or debt-agency referral when needed

• Keep accurate records in line with GDPR

What we're looking for

• Credit control or sales ledger experience

• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

• Clear, confident communication – empathetic but firm with patients

• The ability to prioritise and meet targets under pressure

• Good Excel and MS Office skills, and quick to learn new systems

• Healthcare, insurance or NHS billing experience, or a CICM qualification, is a bonus but not essential
