SEED Environmental is one of the UK's leading providers of intelligent environmental and incident response, environmental consultancy, remediation and restoration services for our insurance, commercial and public sector clients. We adopt an "Intelligent Solutions" approach, assessing and analysing every project on its merits before implementing a unique response.
What makes SEED different is the breadth of our involvement in projects. Rather than providing advice and stepping away, we take responsibility for delivering solutions. Our teams manage projects from initial assessment through to remediation, validation and completion, working closely with clients, stakeholders, contractors and property owners throughout the process.
Part of the Celnor Group
Celnor Group is a UK-based environmental services group operating across the Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) landscape. With a growing portfolio of specialist businesses, Celnor provides essential services that protect people, property and the environment.
While each business retains its own identity, culture and technical specialism, all are supported by a central group function that invests in people, systems and long-term sustainable growth.
About the Role
This is not a traditional environmental consultancy role.
We are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant who enjoys taking ownership, making decisions and seeing projects through from start to finish. Rather than producing reports and handing projects over, you will take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of your work, from initial site assessments and technical investigations through to remediation design, project delivery, validation and final sign-off.
You will manage a varied portfolio of projects at different stages of delivery, typically handling 15-20 projects at any one time. Some projects may be completed within weeks, while others can continue for several years. Every project is different, creating a fast-paced and highly varied working environment.
This role offers significant autonomy and accountability. You'll be trusted to manage your own time, prioritise your workload and build strong relationships with clients, homeowners, landowners, contractors and regulators. You'll work closely with both internal remediation teams and specialist subcontractors to deliver practical solutions that achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
For the right person, this role offers genuine progression opportunities within a growing business. As SEED and the wider Celnor Group continue to expand, there will be opportunities to move into leadership roles, build teams and help shape the future direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage environmental and remediation projects from initial instruction through to completion
- Undertake site assessments, investigations and technical reviews
- Develop conceptual site models and remediation strategies
- Interpret environmental and technical data to support project decision making
- Manage project programmes, budgets and client expectations
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors and specialist suppliers
- Work closely with remediation teams to oversee project delivery
- Undertake validation and verification of completed remediation works
- Produce high-quality technical reports and project documentation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, landowners, clients and stakeholders
- Provide technical advice and practical solutions to environmental challenges
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and in line with regulatory requirements
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Experience within environmental consultancy, contaminated land, remediation, geo-environmental engineering or a related field
- Strong understanding of site investigation and environmental risk assessment principles
- Experience preparing technical reports and communicating findings to clients
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage project budgets and programme requirements
- Full UK driving licence
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who wants more than a traditional consultancy role.
You'll enjoy taking ownership of projects, making decisions and being accountable for outcomes. You'll be comfortable managing your own workload, building relationships with stakeholders and balancing technical, commercial and practical considerations.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who wants variety, responsibility and the opportunity to see the direct impact of your work. This is a role for someone who enjoys being involved from the first call through to the final handover, and who wants to develop their career within a business where progression is genuinely based on ability and ambition.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary and provide a comprehensive range of benefits including:
- Holiday entitlement increasing with service up to 25 days plus bank holidays
- Company pension scheme
- Life insurance (2x annual salary)
- Enhanced sick pay
- Employee assistance programme
- Training and development opportunities
- Career progression opportunities within SEED Environmental and the wider Celnor Group
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you can take ownership of meaningful projects, develop your technical and commercial skills, and help shape the future of an expanding environmental consultancy and remediation business.
SEED Environmental is an equal opportunities employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter explaining why you're the right fit for this role.
