Role Overview

This is an opportunity to take ownership of engineering operations within a busy food manufacturing environment, leading a team that keeps production running safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You'll play a key role in connecting Engineering and Operations, driving continuous improvement and influencing site performance.

Shift pattern - 4 on 4 off days 0500-1700

Key Duties

As Engineering Shift Supervisor, you'll lead engineering activity across your area, ensuring equipment reliability, maintenance excellence and a strong safety culture. You'll work closely with operational teams to deliver business objectives while supporting future growth and continuous improvement.

You will:

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement
• Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes to maximise equipment reliability and uptime
• Act as the key engineering contact for operational teams, supporting production performance and problem-solving
• Drive engineering standards that support food safety, quality, compliance and audit readiness
• Support site HSE initiatives and promote safe working practices across all engineering activities
• Monitor maintenance budgets and ensure effective use of resources
• Lead engineering input during internal, customer and external audits
• Identify and deliver engineering improvement projects that enhance efficiency and reduce downtime

Ideal Candidate

• An experienced engineering leader within FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar fast-paced environment
• Qualified to HNC level (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Knowledgeable in maintenance management, equipment reliability and continuous improvement
• Confident leading teams, developing talent and managing performance
• Familiar with audit standards and compliance requirements within a regulated manufacturing environment
• Comfortable analysing data and using management information to drive decisions
• An effective communicator who can build strong relationships across multiple functions
• Committed to high standards of safety, quality and operational excellence
