The company

Based in Northumberland and operating nationwide, 3C Services delivers specialist support to the highways, infrastructure and construction sectors. From ready-mix concrete and vacuum excavation to sweepers, surfacing, haulage and reactive maintenance, our growing fleet and experienced team provide reliable 24/7 support across the UK.

Over the years, we’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, and we’re proud to say most of our work comes from repeat business and referrals. We’ve earned our stripes by doing things properly, and as our fleet continues to grow, we’re looking to add an experienced HGV Technician / Plant Fitter to our existing team.

The role

Based primarily in our Ashington workshop, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of wagons and plant machinery.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong mechanical background, ideally with experience working on both commercial vehicles and plant machinery. While most work will take place on site, a company van is provided for off-site repairs and emergency call-outs when required.

Key responsibilities

  • Carrying out safety inspections on HGVs and plant equipment
  • Performing routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
  • Diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Preparing vehicles and machinery for MOT tests
  • Responding to breakdowns and emergency call-outs when required
  • Keeping accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
  • Working overtime when necessary to meet operational demands

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as an HGV technician, plant fitter or similar
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Flexible and reliable approach to work

Benefits

  • Competitive salary (negotiable based on experience)
  • Monday - Friday working pattern, with opportunities for authorised overtime to support business needs
  • 21 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays
  • Company van provided
  • Hands-on role with a varied fleet
  • Friendly, down-to-earth working environment (daily laughs guaranteed)

If you’re an experienced HGV Technician / Plant Fitter looking for a new challenge with a local, growing business, we’d love to hear from you.
