Account Manager (Content & Communications)

Sussex / London | Hybrid

Lacewing is looking for an Account Manager with strong content writing skills to join our growing team.

We are an award-winning specialist marketing agency working purely within the alternative investments industry, partnering with firms across private markets, hedge funds, technology, professional services and the wider alternatives ecosystem.

This is not a sales or business development role. It is about looking after our existing clients exceptionally well, understanding their businesses and helping us deliver high-quality marketing and communications.

Working closely with our CEO and COO, you will combine client relationship management with content writing, briefing and project coordination

.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with clients, is a confident writer and can take a conversation or initial idea and turn it into a clear brief, structured piece of content or actionable plan.

What you'll be doing

Client relationships and account management

  • Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and acting as a key day-to-day contact.
  • Managing client communications, priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
  • Preparing for and attending client meetings, capturing key discussions and following through on actions.
  • Proactively identifying client needs and opportunities to add value.
  • Supporting the CEO and COO with account planning, client strategy and ongoing relationships.
  • Coordinating activity across content, design, digital and wider marketing projects.

Content writing and briefing

  • Taking initial client requests, conversations and ideas and turning them into clear, comprehensive creative and content briefs.
  • Writing and editing marketing content, including articles, LinkedIn posts, website copy, email campaigns and other communications.
  • Researching topics and translating complex or technical information into clear, engaging content for specialist audiences.
  • Working with clients and subject matter experts to gather information and develop content.
  • Reviewing and refining copy to ensure it is accurate, consistent with client messaging and ready for approval.
  • Briefing internal designers and other team members, ensuring they have the information and direction needed to deliver projects effectively.
  • Helping develop content calendars and ensuring planned activity progresses on schedule.

Supporting the wider business

  • Working closely with the Lacewing team to maintain high standards across all client deliverables.
  • Helping improve internal processes, briefing and project management as the agency grows.
  • Attending relevant client meetings, industry events and other face-to-face activities.

Who we're looking for

You might already be working as an Account Manager, Senior Account Executive, Content Executive or in a similar agency role where you combine client relationships with writing and project coordination.

You'll be:

  • An excellent writer, with experience producing professional B2B marketing content.
  • Confident communicating directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Able to take complex information and turn it into clear, well-structured briefs and compelling copy.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, projects and deadlines.
  • Comfortable researching unfamiliar subjects and developing a strong understanding of specialist industries.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable taking ownership of projects.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys working in a small, growing business.
  • Commercially aware, without being sales focused.

Experience in alternative investments, financial services or B2B marketing would be advantageous, but strong writing skills, agency experience and a willingness to learn are equally important.

How we work

Lacewing is based across Sussex and London, and we work predominantly remotely. The role will typically involve four days working remotely and one day each week working together from a co-working space.

You will also need to be comfortable travelling into London for client meetings, events and other face-to-face activities when required. As a specialist, growing agency, we're looking for someone who wants to become a genuine part of the business, contribute ideas and take ownership of their work.

There is plenty of opportunity to make the role your own and grow with Lacewing.

If you are interested, please get in with Alice at with a covering letter explaining why you think you’d be great for the role, your CV and details of your salary expectations for the role.
