City: Wakefield, England
Contract type: Intern

CPM has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Executive -

Foodservice to join us on behalf of Taylors of Harrogate, a well-known, family-run company with over 100 years of experience crafting exceptional tea and coffee, including their much-loved

Yorkshire Tea and Taylors Coffee brands.

Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (depending on experience) + 15% performance bonus.

Ideal location: Wakefield, United Kingdom, WF1

Territory covering: Bradford, Carlisle, Durham, Darlington, Halifax, Lancaster, Leeds, Newcastle, Galashiels, Wakefield, York and surrounding areas.

The job has two halves. First, you'll make Taylors the tea and coffee that wholesale depots recommend to their customers. Second, you'll win new business directly with cafés, restaurants, and independent and franchised hotels, then work with wholesalers to turn that interest into lasting distribution.

What You'll Do

  • Win over wholesale depots: build trusted relationships with depot teams so Taylors is front of mind whenever their customers talk tea and coffee.
  • Stay visible: visit depots regularly and represent Taylors at trade and networking events.
  • Find new business: generate your own leads in hospitality by phone, email and face-to-face visits, and win new venues.
  • Turn interest into distribution: work with wholesale partners so every new venue becomes a lasting customer.
  • Grow your accounts: keep in regular contact with the venues you win and build long-term relationships.
  • Run your territory: plan your own journeys and week across a large patch.

Who We're Looking For

Previous wholesale experience is essential, ideally in food, drink or FMCG. That might be in field sales, depot sales or telesales at a wholesaler, or at a supplier brand selling through wholesale. If you know how a depot works and how to get its team recommending your product, we want to hear from you.

You'll also need:

  • Confidence finding and approaching your own leads by phone, email and in person
  • Experience planning your own journeys and managing your own diary
  • A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle

Perks & Benefits

  • £32,000 + 15% performance bonus
  • Flexible hours –37.5 hours Monday to Friday
  • Full time Monday - Friday
  • Holiday Package: Recoup with 20 days of holiday plus bank holidays, extending by one day each year of service up to 31.
  • Pension Plan: Secure your future with a pension plan.
  • Life Assurance: Enjoy peace of mind knowing you have 1 x life assurance
  • Employee Assist Programme: Prioritise your well-being with professional guidance whenever you need it.
  • Peppy: Confidential access to expert health support across areas like fertility, menopause, pregnancy, and more.
  • DIGICARE+ App: Enjoy convenient access to second opinions from doctors, personalised counselling sessions and expert nutritionist advice.
